In todays dog training world, there are many types of dog training collars that are available and in this article I will give you some dog training collars advice. What I have discovered through years of training is that collars are very effective devices when it comes to training any type of canine.

Dog Training Collars AdviceTo start off with in giving you some dog training collars advice, you have to understand there are many different types that can be used. Collars allow you to make a connection with your dog when utilizing them as a training technique.

If you search the web for listings related to dog training collars advice,  you will find many different collars available on the market. Each one of them has it’s own set of features that are unique. You need to base the collar you pick on the training method that you will be using.

Basically, the standard dog training collar is available in nylon or leather.  These collars are generally used for simple dog training methods. As related to this dog training collars advice article, the nylon or leather will help you with the basic methods such as jump, stay or sit and will perform well for the most part.

My dog training collars advice is to buy the best type of collar you can afford. They will simply last longer and be much more adaptable to your needs and the needs of your dog.

Understanding Dog Training Collars Advice

The basic choke collars are known for being helpful in many training situations, however, the most important part of my dog training collars advice is that make sure you use it the right way.

These will give you instant control and correction. All you have to do is tighten it around the pet’s neck, but not tight enough to choke your dog.

When your dog is behaving properly the way you want, NOT the way he wants, then simply loosen the collar up and make it comfortable around the neck. If your dog starts to misbehave or continues to make a mistake in the training, using this dog training collars advice, simply tighten the collar back up and start over.

In time, your dog will understand the meaning of the “tight” collar and the “loose” collar.

DOG TRAINING COLLARS ADVICE – NO PINCH COLLARS

Pinch collars are widely used for training dogs, but should only be used by training professionals. If used in the wrong way, these collars cross into the abusive type of training that I do not approve of.

My dog training collars advice is to not train with this type of collar unless you are completely trained in the use of these collars. Again, I recommend you leave this to the professionals.

The best possible dog training collar for the novice trainer is known as the citronella collar. They are non abusive and are extremely good for correcting bad behavior when your dog is not on a leash.

These collars are more expensive, but not that much more that a good leather collar, but is my top choice for a training collar. They are remote controlled, and with a simple push of button, a light spray of citronella is released onto and around your dogs face.

Citronella is not harmful to your dog, but believe me, he or she will not like it. Very, very affective!

Hopefully, my dog training collars advice will give you an informative method to determine which collar is best for you and your dog.
