Dog Training Fundamentals
Whether you have dog ownership experience, or you trust avnew dog owners or you are already a dog owners, training your dog is one of the most important aspects you need to consider. Similarly if your dog currently has behavioral problems, then dog training is necessary.
However, knowing that you need to train your dog and you must have started to aske your self where do I start ?
To train your dog successfully , you need to consider and understand some facts of dog behaviour.
1. The origins of dogs. Dogs are in essence descended from modern day wolves . While the domestication has reduced or eliminated the number of traits, some of the main natural instincts still exist. Such as wolves, dogs pack animals. What does this mean? Well, there are a lot of qualities that are hosted by being a pack animal. The most important is when it comes to pet training (ie the famous alpha male).
Animals as sociable dogs thrive on interaction with other dogs. Dog does not consider you a human but a funny dog. Therefore, dogs thrive to interact with you. Just like a wild wolf, rejected by the pack, if you are hungry for a dog from this interaction, you will be very unhappy and thrilling.
When it comes to training, you can use this, to reward your dog or punish him. Interaction with the dog (such as talk, encouragement / talk enthusiast, etc.) can be as rewarding as food treats. Similarly, ignoring your dog (such as your heart, talking harshly, putting it in another room, etc.) can be a harsh punishment for the dog. Definitely better than slapping them. As with all animals (including humans), dogs thrive routinely. If they know what and when they are likely to do certain things, they will feel comfortable and comfortable. They know what to expect and are not confused by the ever-changing circumstances.
Training must also adhere to routine. Deciding when to have the best time of the day is best for you to train your dog and stick by that time with the utmost rigor. Your dog will soon get a routine in which he is expected to train at 3pm each day and will be prepared when the training time comes. If the dog is ready and expects to train, it goes without saying that he will train better already.
2. Dog memory. We all know that goldfish have short memories. However, you may be surprised to learn that dogs also have short retention memories. If you can tell your dog something, it is possible that by the next day or a few hours later, they will have forgotten. On the other hand he (or claw) dogs had incredibly good memory associated. This basically means that if your dog can tie something you're telling him, you'll probably remember what you've said for years to come.
3. Dog language. Despite the comments above, we can not speak in comic language and dogs can not speak our language. This is important when it comes to training. You must choose words for the commands that you and your dog will remember. Be careful not to choose very common words or your dog will be confused easily when this word continues to appear in the middle of the sentence. A commonly used word in dog training is "Come". In this example, it may be better to use a generic version or merge "Come Here" in a single short word.
The important thing is that when you decide on a word for a command to stick with it and be consistent, otherwise your dog will become confused.
4. Puppy Behavior. Just like children, puppies do not know how the world works or how they are supposed to act within this world. They must learn and learn what is good, bad, right or wrong. A healthy and happy puppy will have a pack of energy, desperate to explore as much as you can as fast as you can. Dogs do not have good eyes to see things or hands that can feel the complexity of things. Instead, they have noses that can smell the smell of things and mouths that they can chew things. While this can come through training and general maturity, the importance of this is that you must be patient and understand where the dog comes from and why he does what he does.
5. Structure and enjoyment. Although I've been on a tour of the way these two are discussed above, dog training information will not be complete without mentioning these two sides on their own. However you have decided to train your dog, as with routine, you must have a structure for your training. If you have not trained a dog before, how do you know when a dog can start learning to sit, stay, etc., and when can he run to the local store and pick up paper for you?
You need to know what you really want to train the dog so you are able to do it in the end and the steps that you must take to get to the point. Dog trainers, dog training classes and dog training guides can do this. Personally I prefer my own dog training and I think that in the end you develop a stronger link with your dog. Also, your dog is more obedient to you instead of the coach. However, at least, especially if you have not trained a dog before, I recommend buying a dog training manual.
